- Project Overview

This project entailed the creation of a mini-site dedicated to an annual global warming event hosted by the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

The mini-site design serves as a digital platform to promote the event and encourage engagement surrounding this vital issue.  Through thoughtful design elements and user-friendly interfaces, the site aims to captivate visitors and inspire action towards combating climate change.

The Design Process

- The Concept

For the global warming event mini-site, I aimed to create a design that captures attention and conveys urgency.

The design combines images and colors that I felt would help highlight the seriousness of the issue.

Each image is pixelated to attract attention and to look as if it is deteriorating, symbolizing environmental degradation.

This technique requires viewers to step back to see the entire picture, emphasizing the need for a broader perspective on global warming.

- Image Making

I chose to wash the pictures with shades of red and blue. These colors were chosen to visually represent the extreme temperatures linked to global warming, reinforcing the theme and urgency of the event.

When hovering over the text on the side of the pixelated images, the images break apart, revealing text in the white spaces that formed. This dynamic effect underscores the concept of deterioration due to global warming, making the issue more visually impactful and interactive for viewers.
